Welcome to Lexington Junior High School!!! It is an honor to serve as your principal in the amazing Cypress community. As both an alumni of AUHSD (Anaheim Union High School District) and as an educator in the district, I have a vested interest in the success of all our Lexington students. Lexington Junior High and AUHSD are leading the charge in innovative education and I am humbled to be entrusted with your children.
At Lexington, we believe in a balance of strong academics and spirited campus life offering students a wide variety of high performing classes pertaining to Academics, the Arts, Activities, and Athletics. As part of our continual practice and growth, our staff reflects on teaching practices and goals each year to ensure we are delivering relevant and meaningful educational experiences for all students. It is not enough to learn, but to learn so that your child has unlimited possibilities to succeed.
Within the last few years, we have received numerous recognitions: The PBIS Recognition Platinum Level for School culture, The Gold Ribbon Award, California Exemplary Arts Education, California Democracy School and the Civic Learning Award which is only given to one junior high school each year in the state of California. It is our vision to ensure we are putting students first and providing them not only with rigorous curriculum, purposeful learning, and the necessary skills to be college and career ready, but life ready as their culmination of their educational journey.
In addition to an active campus life, we have an active parent community. Throughout the year we have opportunities for parents and community to get involved. Some of these examples are Coffee with the Principal, PTSA, ELAC (English Language Advisory Committee), School Site Council, Parent Nights and of course our various student events. It takes a village to raise a child; and I love this village!
